Pro Volleyball Federation: Omaha beats Grand Rapids, Atlanta gets past Orlando

The Pro Volleyball Federation had two matches at the same time Monday and for YouTube viewers trying to watch both, there was a lot of excitement to take in at once.
In Grand Rapids, Michigan, the visiting Omaha Supernovas (2-2) took 2 hours, 43 minutes to come away with a 21-25, 33-31, 30-28, 25-21 victory over the Rise (2-1), the last PVF team that was undefeated.
In Atlanta, the league-leading Vibe (4-1) rallied for a 25-21, 19-25, 25-21, 22-25, 17-15 victory over the visiting Orlando Valkries (1-2), who got 26 kills from Adora Anae.
SUPERNOVAS BATTLE: The Supernovas were headed to an 0-2 deficit, down 24-23 in the second set and then faced set point five more times before tying it 31-31. They took the lead on a kill by Bethania De La Cruz and won the set on a kill by Jess Schaben-Lansmen.
In the third set, Omaha faced losing set point four times, the last at 28-27. The Supernovas tied it on a kill by Brooke Nuneviller, took the lead on a block by Tori Dixon and won the set on a kill by setter Natalia Valentin-Anderson.
Valentin-Anderson, getting her first start, had 50 assists, 19 digs, two block assists and four kills. Her team hit .198.
Nuneviller, back from an injury, led with 18 kills, 10 digs and an ace. Schaben-Lansman had 17 kills and 15 digs to go with eight blocks, three solo. De La Cruz had eight kills, 12 digs, three block assists and six aces, matching her PVF best. Newly activated middle Hristina Vuchkova had eight kills, three blocks and an ace. Libero Kendall White had 18 digs and five assists, and Paige Briggs, who started when Nuneviller was out, had two aces.
Claire Chaussee led the Rise with 19 kills, an ace, 15 digs and six blocks, one solo. Symone Abbott had 15 kills, an ace, 10 digs and four blocks, one solo. Marin Grote had five kills, four digs and 13 blocks, five solo. Emily Dimitrova had 16 kills, 15 digs and five block assists. Kayla Caffey had four kills, a dig and six blocks, two solo.
Sarah Sponcil had 23 digs and five assists and setter Ashley Evans had 43 assists, 10 digs and six blocks, three solo. Mac Podraza got in the mix and had nine assists, four digs and two blocks, one solo.
The crowd in the CHI Health Center was announced as 4,060.
VIBE IN FIVE: Atlanta, which improved to 3-0 in five-set matches, is 6-0 in sets decided by two points.
Leah Edmond led Atlanta again, this time with 18 kills, 13 digs and three solo blocks. Leketor Member-Meneh was more than capable again as the sub for injured Allie Linnehan, coming up with 13 kills — five in the first set and five more in the third — 13 digs and an ace. Grace Cleveland had nine kills, 12 digs and two block assists. Shelly Fanning had seven kills, an ace, a dig and two blocks, one solo. Karis Watson had two kills, five digs and five blocks, three solo.
Tori Stringer had 47 assists, eight digs and three blocks, one solo. Morgan Hentz had 19 digs and four assists.
Orlando’s Adora Anae went off for 26 kills and added three aces, 14 digs, two assists and a block. Jill Gillen had 17 kills, hit .333, and had an ace, 21 digs and four blocks, two solo. Shainah Joseph had nine kills, an ace, 19 digs, two assists and five blocks, one solo. Kaz Brown added eight kills, two assists and seven blocks, three solo.
Carly Graham had 40 assists, 11 digs and two blocks assists. Georgia Murphy had 19 digs and seven assists.
The crowd in the Gas South Arena was announced as 2,470.

Friday, the Columbus Fury go to Orlando.
There are two matches Sunday, when Atlanta goes to Grand Rapids and Orlando is at Omaha.
Monday, the San Diego Mojo go to the Vegas Thrill.
